At Tasting Merchants, we do our best to make shipping wine on your behalf as smooth and transparent as possible and provide the best customer service we can.

When Will You Ship My Order?

Proper storage and handling of your wine is our number one priority. Wines are transferred to our warehouses directly from our winery partners on an as needed basis. Therefore, it may take 1-3 weeks for your wine to ship. Once your package has left our warehouse, you will be automatically emailed the tracking information.

Wine is precious and needs to be handled and stored properly. Therefore, we have gone to great lengths to develop a shipping program that cares for your wines and provides outstanding service.

Which States Do You Ship To?

We ship wine only to states where direct shipment is permitted by law. Currently, we ship to: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY.

Due to ever changing applicable direct-shipping laws, rules and regulations for wine, the list of states that we can ship to on your behalf may change at any time. All wines are sold and title passed to the buyer at our warehouse in Napa, California. We will arrange for shipment on behalf of the buyer, to an address specified by the buyer, provided that in our sole discretion we believe that such shipment will not subject us to the risk of any sort of legal action or other harm.

How Much Does Shipping Cost?

UPS shipping costs are calculated at the time of checkout on our website based on the quantity of bottles/weight and distance from our Napa, California warehouse.

We are proud to offer $1 ground shipping on any accepted orders of 6 bottles or more! It’s our way of saying thank you and building strong relationships with our customers. Unfortunately, this offer is not valid for shipments to Alaska or Hawaii.

Which Carrier Do You Use?

All packages are shipped on your behalf via UPS. We fully understand that no carrier is perfect and that some prefer other carriers. We found UPS to offer the best service and pricing for our customers. If you prefer an alternative approved carrier, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate, to the extent possible, however additional fees may apply.

Do I Have To Sign For My Package?

Yes. Applicable law permits us to sell, ship, and deliver wine only to individuals 21 years of age or older and requires that someone 21 years of age or older sign for the wine in person upon delivery. Leaving a signed note on your door doesn’t count – sorry! UPS and our other approved carriers cannot leave the package on your doorstep, even if they do that with all your non-alcohol deliveries.

If home delivery is inconvenient, we suggest you consider shipping your wine to a business address, if appropriate, where you can sign for and accept your package. In some areas, business addresses also get priority delivery and are often the first deliveries of the day.
